Approach & Philosophy

Philosophy and Approach

Our Philosophy

Amundi Pioneer's history is grounded in research and analytics. Research and rigorous risk management are the basis for all investment decisions.

Our Approach

Amundi Pioneer’s investment approach is based on the following key tenets:

  • Investment philosophy based on risk allocation rather than asset allocation, as portfolio construction focused on risk allocation, as opposed to asset allocation. This approach has not only helped to successfully mitigate the downside risk in stressful market environments, it also helped maintain attractive risk-adjusted returns versus competitors.
  • The incremental return available from security selection, based on careful relative-value analysis and quantitative research, is significantly greater and more consistent than the incremental return from predicting the direction of interest rates.
  • Stable investment team with two senior PMs that have worked together at Amundi Pioneer in the Agency MBS sector for the past 19 years.
